What made you join Cam City WI?

​

Mel (and Matt) invited me and my husband, Adrian, to the WI Summer Social at Calverley’s Brewery.  I met a warm, friendly group of ladies and that was it. I thought “I must sign up”, which I promptly did and have enjoyed it ever since – thank you!

Who inspires you and why?

​

My Dad is an amazing man he looked after Mum who had MS until her health deteriorated so much that she was unable to stay at home. Sadly, she passed away two years ago.  Dad never moaned or felt sorry for himself – he loved her dearly and wanted her to have the best of everything.  I hope I can become more like him the older I get. He bakes, gardens, drives to visit places of interest, tells terrible jokes and is great fun to be with....oh yes and he is 87 years old!

What's your life philosophy?

Take each day one step at a time, enjoy what you do, love your family and don’t regret anything.

What are your guilty pleasures?

​

I could watch films all day long – especially Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or anything with Bill Nighy or Colin Firth in! Alternatively I could lie down quietly and read all day. Both accompanied by my Poison – WINE – any colour or fizzy!!

​

If you had a million pounds, what would you do with it?

I would help my 3 children to buy their first homes, treat Adrian, my husband, to a ridiculous car – Ford Focus RS – and if there is anything left, I would buy myself a sensible car, books and films!

What's on your bucket list?

​

1. Go inter-railing around Europe with Adrian

2. Go on a Painting or Cookery Holiday

3. I would love to go whale watching in Canada

What would your ideal day entail?

​

Walking at the coast in Norfolk with my family, a pub lunch, and a film in the evening with some fizz!
