June 2017: Makaton Sign Language

 

Members got to express themselves in new ways this month as we were joined by Naomi, of DanceMatters, who not only shared her skills in using and teaching Makaton Sign Language, but her humorous introduction to learning and applying it.

A great story teller, Naomi enthused us all to sign and speak some of our 'favourite' words - 'CHEESE, CAKE, VOTE' & 'FRIEND'!  We can all now sign 'What's your name?', 'My name is...', 'Can I help you?', 'Can you help me?', the alphabet and we finished off with a signed rendition of 'I can sing a rainbow'!
