November 2017: Chocolate Tasting with Chocolat Chocolat

 

We upped our numbers for a very popular meeting this month, predicatably because it was CHOCOLATE Tasting with the wonderful local chocolatier, Isabelle ChappelL of 'Chocolat Chocolat'.

We were treated to a talk taking us through the tastes of a variety of Milk, Dark and White Chocolates; with much nose holding so our tastebuds could work at their best!  

 

We learned about the origins and quality of chocolates and shook 'life-sized' Cocoa Pods! We were also flavour tested, guessing special taste additions to chocolate including Earl Grey Tea, Lavender and Chai spices.  We even dared to 'try' and eat a 96% cocoa chocolate button - you'd think easy - but NO, so dry!  Safe to say, for some of us, cheap choccie just ain't gonna cut it any more.

Our members and visitors turned out in force for a lively evening with generous donations to the Chocolate themed raffle - with a super Top Prize from Chocolat Chocolat won by the lovely Amy S!
