Looking for Planets

6.30pm at The Institute of Astronomy

Please use this online form to book your places to attend. 

 

  • We will send an email to those who book with confirmation of your place/s and details of how to make payment. 

  • All proceeds will go towards our WI fundraising and our Charity of the Year.

If there are clear skies: There will be a talk about looking for planets and the Big Bang for 30-60 minutes followed by a stargazing session in the 16" Telescope Dome for 30-60 minutes.  Post viewing drinks and nibbles will also be available.

 

If there are cloudy skies: There will be a talk about looking for planets and the Big Bang for 60 minutes then a visit to the oldest telescope to look at its construction and dome followed by a planetarium show back in the lecture theatre.  Post show drinks and nibbles will also be available.

Access: to note that accessing the telescope requires using stairs and narrow doorways.

​

Spaces will be limited so book early!
